A visit to like-minded institutions conducted in Kenya
The leadership of EEFRI visited research, forest and wildlife organizations in Kenya, 25–29 November 2019, to share experience and knowledge. During their one week stay in Kenya, they visited World Agroforestry (ICRAF) headquarters, Kenyan Forest Research Institute, Kenyan Forest Services, Kenyan Wildlife Services Training Institute and Kenyan Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization among others. Ethiopian Environment and Forest Research Institute – #EEFRI has received the first batch of equipment (Wood Processing Technologies/tools) from the Swedish government through the #SIDA support program of “Institutional Strengthening for Catalysing Forest Sector Development Project in Ethiopia”. The project is currently implemented in collaboration with the #SLU, #EFCCC, #CIFOR and #WGCF-NR. The tools will enable us to renovate and modernize one of our research centers, namely Forest Resources Utilization, Innovation Research and Training Center (the then Wood Technology Research Center).
